It's so bad that when I am able to sleep, I'll wake up the next morning with bloody welts from where I was scratching in my sleep. Even when i'm awake (especially at night it starts ) I become itchy and it can be all over my body. My scalp on down is fair game and its so annoying. i am reading this question as i lay here in bed with not one, but two backscratchers beside me for the constant itch i have. it seems to be worse at night but i suffer during the day too. i used to think that it was because of the pain meds but now realize that its just another symptom to put on the list....the list is more like a book these days.
When I was going absolutely, mindboggling crazy with an itch which started about 5 minutes after I went to bed, I asked my doctor about it....he prescribed HYDROXYZINE. He diagnosed me as having "itch without rash." It worked great. I hardly ever have to take it any longer. It is for anxiety, also. Interesting, huh?
My sister gets horribly itchy when her liver is overwhelmed. Maybe you could ask your Dr to check your liver enzymes out. This also makes sense that it happens at night when the liver is more active to catch up from the day.
I have days where I am certain that there is something on my skin but there is nothing there. But I have itcy days and it drives me crazy. I guess it is the nerves just being so fired up. Have you noticed if it is when your other symtoms seem to be bad or during stressful times. I have seen others mention it online.
It's crazy ForSakenAngel, nothing has changed it's only at night for me. I thought it may have been lotion so I went to using organic coconut oil instead but I had this problem before that too? Do you think this is a fibro thing too since our skin is sensitive to other things like a simple touch?
