Hi fibromates,

I am wondering, does anyone get sudden urges to go to the bathroom? Do you feel any pain or pressure?

Members widely validated the experience of sudden, urgent bathroom needs with fibromyalgia, with many describing frequent trips even when little urine is present, occasional accidents, and feelings of pressure without pain. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped, including Azo cranberry supplements, overactive bladder medications prescribed by a doctor, and recognizing potential connections to conditions like interstitial cystitis or hypermobility, which often overlap with fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was the frustration of balancing frequent urination with staying hydrated for other symptoms like constipation, met with reassurance that this is a known fibromyalgia challenge and encouragement to speak with a doctor about medication options.

I have IC which is a bladder illness where the lining of your bladder is damaged to being gone. It is not uncommon for people with fibro to also have IC. The link below has good information. Just a thought to pass on.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, you said you will check with your rheumatologist about cymbalta possibly causing the urgency. He/she will tell you no, one thing I found out about doctors over the last 14 years is....they love to push drugs and won’t admit the side effects/damage they cause 🙁
