Members connected over the challenges of living with essential tremors, sharing how the condition affects everyday tasks like typing, writing, holding a glass, and even using utensils, with some describing frustrating moments when their hands seem to move independently of their intentions. The most commonly discussed treatment was propranolol, with several members taking it once or twice daily to manage symptoms, though one member raised concerns about increased urination as a possible side effect and received reassurance from others who had not experienced that issue. A recurring theme was learning to adapt and live with the condition over time, with practical strategies like doing fine motor tasks early in the morning when tremors may be less severe and taking breaks when frustration builds during difficult activities.

I have essential tremors that making typing and texting a real challenge. If I have my finger hovering 1/2 inch over a button, a tremor comes along and I type the key. Once this happens four or five times, I get so anxious or frustrated that I have to take a break or start abbreviating every word or sentence.
