Has anyone had a severe reaction to Buprenorphine-Naloxon. Fluid retention in lower legs and feet
My feet are so swollen shoes and socks are painful
I have no ankles, just tree trunk legs.
This is a drug used to help with opioid withdrawl, however it is also used for treating chronic pain. It is very helpful for pain. Hi Sweet heart , have you tried a diuretic ? And also prop your legs up above your heart ! Cranberry is one way to urinate , or lemon squeeze into water , or if you drink a beer also helps ! have you called your Dr ? If your feet are that bad go to Urgent Care or ER as water or fluid retention is bad for your organs , real bad for heart ! Sounds like you are having an adverse reaction to this medication, your Doctor should be able to get a different medication for fluid retention that doesn't have these terrible side effects.
Definitely lay down on a bed and raise your legs with pillows underneath them.
Hope you find a medication that agrees with you. Unfortunately most medications are trial and error to see if they work for you or not.

@A MyFibroTeam Member..... I hope you will consider getting a second opinion if your doctor refuses to change the medication you are taking.
Just because swelling is not a normal or common side effect doesn’t mean the medication is not causing you to swell. Some medications can create uncommon side effects.
I know you want to take it for your pain but having the type of swelling you are having doesn’t sound healthy.
Please consider getting re-evaluated 🤗
Make sure they check you for gout the first symptoms my nephew had he was like 35 years old. Also some of the medications they use for fibromyalgia causes weight gain. I gained 50 pounds myself.
But I would have them make sure your kidneys are working properly for sure just to be on the safe side. And where those copper fit socks I bought them for my friend who had severe edema in her ankles and she loved them. They weren't too pricey here about ten bucks a pair. I hope this information is helpful for you and you find some kind of relief. 🙋💜
On label it’s for opioid withdrawal. Say no, you want something else.
Tree trunk legs are not normal...or get another doctor
