Has anyone else ever experienced pain in the big toe nails? My pain is always worse in the morning and I can barely walk. I walk around the house stepping gently on my heel and putting no weight on the ball of my foot. Part way through the morning it seems to ease up which is why I think it could be a form of morning stiffness. The toe nails arent in great shape but the pain I have is typically along the nail bed where my nail is actually healthy. Might not be fibro related at all, but I have an… read more

Members responded to a question about big toe nail pain that worsens in the morning, with many sharing similar experiences including sharp pains that feel like nails are caught on something, stabbing sensations like a rod being pushed through toes or fingers, and painful pressure on the nail bed that makes walking difficult. Several members offered possible explanations, with suggestions ranging from gout and arthritis to fibromyalgia-related nerve pain, while emphasizing that the pain comes from pressure on sensitive tissues surrounding the nail rather than the nail itself. A recurring theme was the community's supportive stance against dismissive comments, with members encouraging empathy and validation of each other's pain experiences.

Toenails do not hurt . If they had nerves they wouldn’t be able to

I get pains that feel like a rod is being shoved through the end of my toes. My god it smarts!!!! It just started in my fingers. Left middle finger, last joint to the tip. Feels like rod being shoved through the tip. Couldn't touch the finger at all. After 3 days, it's not so sensitive. Sometimes my toes feel like the skin and tissues are being ripped from bottom(plantar surface) of my toes to ball of foot(transverse arch) do you or anyone else experience this?

I am experiencing nail pains, both on my big toe and my index finger. Its like slamming your toe or finger by the door. That kind of pain. 😣
