Burning Sensation That Feels As Though It Is Under The Skin.
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

It is driving me crazy. My skin feels like it is burning. At the moment it is my face, it is not red to look at. Its doesn't feel like the skin it feels like it is under the skin. I've been having it across my chest and back, down my arms too. It is not cardiac related I was checked out just the other day. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas, therapies that might help :) Thank you.

I have this symptom for about 25 years. The only things that helped me were cold packs bit the big kind and sleeping it off when I can. I think the ketamine treatments were helping this issue but cannot day for sure. For me it is the symptom I disdain most. Trouble wearing clothing etc Can really stop yor day cold Sometimes I wake up with burning. Sometimes it is with me all day. Stress can play a large part in this for me as well. Hope you try the cold packs. That at least gives some relief for a awhile. Feel better soon. Deede

It could be nerve pain I get that. It feels like somebody is putting a chemical on your skin. Mine moves around not constant. The first time I felt this sensation was with shingles. It came out of nowhere and next day had the lesions pop out. Shingles left and still have the sensation it comes and goes

I experience something very similar on my calves. I think it's tied to hair growth after shaving. It feels like every hair follicle is electric and on fire. It makes me want to shave the skin off my legs to stop yhe sensation.

The burning sensations I have always said is one of the worse symptoms I have. Nothing helps. Cold packs a little maybe but I would need a blanket made of ice It is is a horrible sensation that robs one of sleep and energy

I get the same thing from time to time, usually I have found it is when my body is under stress. I just wear loose clothes and try to move less it subsides within a couple weeks usually. I have asked the doctor many times and there is no fix just one of the things that come with no explanation. Get some cool air and try to relax. Best of luck
