Is low folic acid connected to fibro? I've just had bloods and gp has left me a prescription for 2month supply of folic acid.

Interesting I have Folic Acid with my iron tablets, because I have iron deficiency anaemia but never really considered low folic acid before.

Has your Doctor tested you for iron deficiency anaemia? Also low in Vitamin B12, Vitamin D as well.

Seems like Fibromyalgia seems to cause Vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have had folic acid for 3 months and after that i finshed tgem my bloods were taken again at rheumatologist and theythen asked my gp to give me a 2 month course of iron tablets for 2 months, get my bloods done again tomorrow to have iron levels checked again, not one doctor has told me why but I presumed myself it was to do with my bones and the fibro.

I am low in Potassium, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D, but I started going out in the sun without sunscreen for 15 to 20 minutes a day to get the Vitamin D, I took the liquid form of Vitamin B, and eating white beans and avocado gives me plenty of potassium but I believe that it is common in people with Fibro and Chronic Fatigue to be low in those. I eat fish or chicken and it keep my iron good. I love chicken burritos with beans, avocado, rice, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.
