Do These Flare Ups Ever Go Into Remission.
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have recently been diagnosed as having FM. And have much to learn about controlling the symptoms. Do these flare ups ever subside where you are pain free & energized?

Thanks

Tcook, I am relatively new to this site also, but have had fibro since my teens. Fibro pain can be devious. One day you think you are pretty well, the the next you are in agony. I am sorry you had to have so many tests. They want to rule out other diseases. Sorry about your new symptoms after back surgery.
Only do gentle exercise, not too long at a time, or you may feel worse. I sincerely hope you can get back to your normal self. The majority of us have found new normals. Fibro does not have to change your personality much. I feel I am better since fibro and breast cancer. There's nothing like walking in another's shoes to become more empathetic to the hurts of others.
I take few meds. Most of them made me spaced out or too wide awake.
Tramadol helps my leg pains. I try to pace myself when I am able to be up. Most of the time I am in bed. Have an adjustable bed, so I feel more like I am up. Once weekly I get up & go play piano for our church service. I usually hurt worse later, but it makes me feel I am doing something for someone else.
I pray your fibro journey is easy as possible and non-progressive.
Write me if you want to talk more.

Oh my, so sorry.. exercise makes my fibro worse although I used to be very active. I tried quite a few different meds that either had terrible side effects/ and did not totally control my pain. I use a very high quality high potency CBD oil that I buy online. It has worked very well for me.

Can anyone with Fibromyalgia really be totally Pain Free?

Personally I don't think so, Flares are usually very intense Pain or excruciating Pain that doesn't seem to ease up at all.

There is also normal over all body Pain that would be your Fibromyalgia normal Pain and that it is bearable to live with medication.

Hopefully you will find your Fibromyalgia normal.
If you are always in intense Pain and Flares I would go back to your Doctor and get better medication.

Blessings Gentle Hugs❣️

Yes sometimes you will feel much better and start to think maybe it's all in your head and then suddenly it will be bad again. Just need to figure out if something triggers it for you. For me it is stress, Hormones, doing to much and even some foods (e.g. smoothies give me stomach cramps).
Can't tell you much about meds as I try to just have over the counter ones unless it's really bad and I need them to keep going. But I do find that palates and swimming help me. But best ask your physio or someone first x

Welcome! Thanks for adding me to your team. I added you to mine, as well. I have had fibro for years before it was finally diagnosed. Initially, I had quite a few times when I was pain free and felt normal separated by flares. Now that I am older, my fibro has worsened. I have pain now 24/7. Fortunately, the pain is well controlled. The fibro fog and fatigue comes and goes.
