Hi when going to sleep dreaming all the time waking up every hour to wake up next morning drained can’t function next day anybody any tips
I saw my rheumatologist yesterday and told him I wanted to get off Cymbalta cuz I couldn't tell if it was helping me one way or the other and I felt it was giving me nightmares. He did concede that a side-effect of the drug could be nightmares, but he did not want me to stop taking it, there was a lot of evidence that it did help with Fibro pain. He asked me when I took it, told him at night just before I went to bed. I remember being told to take it then. He said to immediately stop taking it then and to take it first thing in the morning or right after breakfast. I told him I would do that and see how that worked. He also prescribed something for me to take at night to help me sleep. Think it is Trazadone or something like that. I took it for the first time last night (1/2 pill). I had had a bad experience with Ambien, so was reluctant to take it, but he said it was a completely different med and not at all like Ambien which reassured me. I did fall asleep immediately but 2 hours later I was awake. (Sad face) I will give it a chance though.
I am suspecting the Cymbalta is causing mine. I see the rheumatologist tomorrow, and I am going to ask him if i can wean off of it.
A lot of different medications cause dreams/nightmares. I was talking morphine extended release at night and it was making me talk gibberish or I would answers out loud to questions I thought of during the night. Or I would wake up in the middle of the night and start cooking myself some food. I was super sleepy but would still keep cooking. Was really bad and I was only taking 15 mg morphine 😂
Medication can really mess with our minds.
I was on cymbalta & had to get off it cause it caused too much abdominal pain
