Was diagnosed many years ago but symptoms eased. However late last year began to get an awful stiff neck and aches in shoulders and upper arms that made them feel really weak. With this I also had pain in my legs and almost like a cold shivery feeling. The pain has got worse feels like all my muscles and tendons are sore and cannot do anything with them. They are sore when pressed as if I have injured or strained them. Also now getting really intense fasticulations and twitching everywhere. Just… read more

Just started on some magnesium. Keen to avoid lots of medications but seem to be having them thrown at me lately!

Let them check your ferritin iron levels. I was recently diagnosed with hemochromatosis which is iron overload. I have primary which means both my parents carried it. It’s genetic. Can cause lots of serious problems with liver and diabetes. My rhemotologist told me today it also could be causing the pain. I also have a high calcium level which causes other problems. I really think the fibro could stem from this blood disorder. Everyone should have their iron ( ferritin ) levels checked. I was born with this and no one ever checked it out. Bum 65 now and have had fibro for 27 years.

Yes me too. Can't wait to go the Rheumatologist this Fri. Was diagnosed in 09 and really haven't been back since then. But the Fibro is getting really bad. I does sound like Fibro.

Yes same with me...awful pain in neck shoulders and exactly like you described it. I am on Tylenol #3 but I don't like being on opiates. Hope you get better soon!

Thanks for your reply. It has been driving me crazy. Gabapentin not helped they are thinking of carbamazepine. Never been keen on taking any medications but now will consider if gives some relief. Is there anywhere in particular you can get info on the muscle stretching and relaxation. Keen to try more of a natural aid as well! Also can you manage the clonazepam during the day?
