Members responded to the question of beating extreme exhaustion with fibromyalgia by emphasizing the critical importance of getting quality sleep, with several urging a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea and noting that a CPAP machine significantly improved their morning fatigue. Many shared practical strategies including pacing activities throughout the day, breaking tasks into small increments every 30 minutes, using tools like caffeine supplements or engaging podcasts to maintain momentum, and trying medications such as Lyrica, Amitriptyline, melatonin, or Tylenol PM to support deeper sleep. A recurring theme was the frustration of waking up exhausted despite sleeping through the night, with members acknowledging they likely aren't reaching REM sleep and expressing curiosity about whether ADHD medications might help combat the relentless fatigue.

Hi, I'm brand new on here so there are probably others with better advice giving skills. Here's what I do: I rest and force myself to do something easy every 30 minutes like put a load of laundry on, make the bed, or go get the mail. I know there's discouragement around caffeine, but I couldn't function if I didn't have a little help so I take a One A Day vitamin that has 120 mg of caffeine. Last, I often put my headphones on to listen to something relaxing or engaging (a fav podcast) while I do dishes or clean the kitchen. There is something about being able to get lost in what I'm listening to that helps me move or accomplish goals. I hope this is helpful.

I had extreme exhaustion for over 6 months, Lyrica and Amitriptyline along with mindfulness and deep meditation through hypnotherapy (marissa peer's course) have worked wonders for me and am back to some bit of normality.

Have a sleep study done. I was feeling that way, and when I had a sleep study done, it was found that I had sleep apnea. Sleep problems go hand-in-hand with fibro. I have been using a C-PAP machine for years, and my sleep and morning fatigue are much better. Also, try melatonin at night and maybe a Tylenol PM. It sounds as if you need to get into deep sleep at night. If you do not, you will feel extremely exhausted all the time.

The thing is with me, I have no trouble sleeping. Sometimes I wake up whenever I need to reposition myself. I get up more tired than when I went to bed.
