Members overwhelmingly validated the experience of becoming more sensitive and tearful with fibromyalgia, with many attributing these emotional changes to hormone fluctuations, depression, anxiety, frustration over lost abilities, and the chronic nature of living with constant pain. Several members shared practical coping strategies that have helped them, including using medications like Prozac, Cymbalta, or Pristiq to manage emotions, practicing affirmations and self-talk, taking deep breaths before reacting, and showing themselves grace during challenging moments. A recurring theme was the profound reassurance that these emotional shifts are a normal part of fibromyalgia, not a personal failing, with members encouraging each other to accept their sensitivity as part of who they are now and to lean on community support during difficult times.

I found the same thing since all this started. Easy to anger, easy to cry.its very frustrating. I try to remember to take a breath and see if there is any good reason to be annoyed. Doesn't stop the feeling but can help with not snapping at people sometimes

I found just being with people who were there to share a special time with my daughter and son-in-law helped me enormously. Apparently I smiled all day. Just enjoy it and damn the consequences, you can rest afterwards. Probably took me 2 -3 days to feel better. It was worth it!

They don't understand it's very hard not to have those feelings when you are in that much pain it does bring you down but unfortunately it goes with the ailment

I have been that way. When I’m getting that feeling I try and imagine myself somewhere else nice and warm with a beach and dolphins to watch. Please don’t let your daughter make you think something is wrong..... gentle hugs

I am too. I have decided that it's just who I am. I am my worst critic as well.
So now, I use affirmations and self talk, and it really helps.
Been a long process. I agree that it is frustration for me most times.
You are not alone for sure!
