Yes. A total of 3 back surgeries, 2 since being diagnosed w fibromyalgia. Not an easy road. Take your time w healing . Don't be hard on yourself if things/healing process doesn't go as fast as you want it to! Prayers...

Having Fibromyalgia for a long time and then having spine surgery Dec. last year. It was really bad and I couldn't walk for 4 weeks after and spent 6 weeks in rehab. Physical therapy at home after that plus still used a walker for a while. The nerves down the back of my left leg and left foot are still pretty numb but somewhat better and it has been almost a year. Not the doctors fault. My lower back, two disks had to be replaced, my spine would slip out of place pressing on nerves so my nerves were messed up. Once doctor opened me up it was worse than he though it was going to be and it took twice as long as he thought. So, yes I do feel that fibro made it a lot harder and longer to heal.

No but I'm having my 4th injections and nerve blocks tomorrow to keep me from having surgery.

I did not have back surgery since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia but had 3 before that and can tell u they r very painful and I had to have physio after. It took a long time to heal and I had muscle spasms for a long time. I now have arthritis in that area and a lot of scarring which affects the nerves especially in my legs. I am now going through tests to c if burning the nerve ends will shut down pain messages.

Not yet but just had my fourth injection trying to find something that helps. Was scheduled for laminectomy and backed out of it at the last minute. I had two docs who said it wasn’t a good idea in my case. I have bulging discs and sciatica pain. My rheumatologist referred me to a pain and physical med doc who said surgery was a bad idea at least for now. He thoroughly examined me and my mri and explained everything I detail. He thinks most of my pain is from arthritis in my spine. So I see him on 19 to see what to do next as last weeks injection only helped a couple of days Jan good luck and keep us posted
