Members rallied around someone feeling neurologically off and anxious about starting Cymbalta, with many sharing firsthand experiences of similar hypersensitivity, off-balance days, and the frustrating journey of ruling out other conditions before accepting fibromyalgia as real and not just psychological. Several members offered practical advice, including being cautious with Cymbalta and monitoring liver function, trying acupuncture for localized pain, exploring alternative testing like food sensitivities and small fiber neuropathy biopsies, and seeking holistic approaches such as diet changes or treating chronic yeast overgrowth that resolved symptoms for one member after 25 years. A recurring theme was the profound isolation and loneliness many feel—from unsupportive spouses and dismissive loved ones to the internal battle of managing trauma, anxiety, and pain—met with fierce encouragement to keep advocating for yourself, find compassionate doctors, lean on faith and community, and remember you are not alone or crazy.

Oh, fyi , 1) watch out for meds causing symptoms or cross medications.2) you are not crazy, find the book somewhere , itl cover the weirdness. Obviously you did the right thing first ruling out strike, seizures, etc. 3) despite that your drs should have treated you with more respect and compassion than they did. Yes, there is such a thing as hypochondria and more anxiety can cause more symptoms. But, something my dr told me has hung around. I asked for antidepressant that helps with anxiety, she told me No and said with all the crap I've gone through it is normal as a human to feel depressed and have anxiety. It's ok to feel it. It means you're alive and gone through and are going though a lot. If it gets worse or to much to handle , if meditation no longer helps, then yes, she'll give me something. But for right now be human. So yes, if depression, fear, or anxiety control and overwhelm your life, talk to your Dr and it's always a good idea to have a therapist who you can just spill everything to.they can teach biofeedback and meditation, and if your income challanged like me right now, most cities have low or no cost clinics. But be your own advocate first and foremost! You and only you can tell how you are feeling. Let no one tell you how you should feel. We are unique. But remember, we are a team in our uniqueness!! You are not alone.

Hi
In regards to anxiety yep it is really awful. I think the continued stress of this condition is what causes this. Regarding the left thumb. Definitely get accupuncture for that. I had a middle finger that was bad on and off for at least three years if not longer. Couldn't even hold the steering wheel to drive! One session of accupuncture and it cured it. She used moxibustion also. I think the neural pathways become damaged over time and signals from the brain become amplified, anxiety does affect this. That is why you jump at loud sounds. You should see me and my daughter we are exactly the same. I have fybro my daughter has pots and Ehler Dahlos syndrome. Fybro is a scary illness and if you are under any sort of stress your symptoms will be amplified threefold-but this isn't always apparent straight after the stressful event. Can be a month later! I am 55 and have crippling anxiety at the present, but I lost my mother, she died 18mths ago. I have been on a downward spiral ever since. The best thing I have found is to read uplifting articles especially spiritual. Look at funny pictures and videos of animals. Try really hard to avoid all negativity in your life, and other negative people, which I know is hard. Peace I hope you find

Hi there. I have the same issues you experience. I have bouts of dizziness, headaches, arms tingling, very bad anxiety where I can feel “waves” that come on quickly. I also have pain in the base of my skull that’s causing me to have tension headaches. And that’s just today! I went to the doctor last night because I got a painful swollen node behind my ear. Possibly a infection. If it’s not one thing it’s another. I experience a large list of symptoms so it’s always something. However, I do have some good days/weeks, I think I’m just going through a flare for about a week now. I also share your concerns with medication, I’m fairly sensitive to them so I’m reluctant to try them as well. I will definitely pray for you. I would appreciate them too. God hears them. Feel better.

I can so relate to what you're going through. I won't even attempt to drive anymore. It's so sad and horrible. I get such anxiety at the thought of driving. I'm originally from a very small town , but moved to Douglasville GA 3 years ago. You can't go out without someone honking at everyone here. As soon as a light turns green , people are honking for someone to pull out. It's unbelievable. I still don't know my way around and can imagine...and it has happened when I did go out a couple times the honking. In this situation not knowing the area very much at all makes me even more nervous to venture out. I hate this disease. It affects literally our entire being. Pain physically and emotionally. And it's not in our heads. I have many of the same symptoms that you have, affecting my right side...even down to the thumb. Praying for you. I also take generic klonopin....I've been out for a couple months and can definitely tell a difference. In search of a good pca....hope you feel better 💖
