I’ve been having some soreness that is painful to touch on my neck on either side of my throat/esophagus. It’s more painful on my right side. I don’t feel any lumps per se. I went to my doctors last week and they said I had a swollen node but it was not anything concerning. Any ideas? I read that swollen lymph nodes are common in Fibro but I just recently started to experience this a couple of months ago. I also would like to mention I had a ultrasound on my neck and nothing was found.

Hi there! Thanks for your answer. I was just recently tested for EBV because I had read up on it as well. It came back negative.
I would get a Epstein Virus Test ( it is the Mononucleosis virus) Many have this virus but do not know it.When it is active it can cause swelling in throat and nodes,,and cause fatigue..it is worth finding out if you have it.Many people have Epstein Barr but it goes away in 6 months,,,but many of us who have immune problems due to Fibro or other diseases,,,the Epstein Barr has a harder time going away,,,.I kept telling the Dr.my Epstein Barr has not gone away so he took another test after 6 months and it was still acute,we did this testing for 3 years,,only then did he believe me that some people who have Epstein Barr have a harder time with it,,,because it can stay acute. good luck finding out what it is,,To Do a Epstein Barr test it is just a blood test..
Check with Endocrinologist on your sore neck. Were there blood testing done on your hormone levels regularly? Were your thyroid glands & parathyroid isles checked, meaning blood tests for their hormonal levels & function. I'm not a doctor, but have Lived with Fibromyalgia for the past 30 years. Perhaps the websites WebMD, US Berkeley White Papers or Mayo Clinic can start your research. Good Luck.
I'm going through this at this time also.
I have the same thing as well and a ct scan and nothing. Yes I also read that swollen lymph nodes are part of fibromyalgia
