I've been on Topamax(Topiramate) for years. It has helped reduce the number of migraines I get and I do believe it helps with the pain. I lost weight with the last increase in dosage, which was good. The only side effect I have noticed is that alcohol doesn't appeal to me at all. I've stopped taking it without problems at times just to "reset" my system.

I was on topamax for years. Did not help either my migraines or fibro. I now take cymbalta, helps with the pain and the despair.

Ive been on Lyrica (Pregabelin) for 5 years, i think it does help to an extent but i dont think just one type of medication is enough. Im on quite a few. I dont get effected by the side effects anymore i only had the common ones for about a week. You have to decide can you carry on as you are now without taking anything? And if you try either and dont like them they can take you back off them!

All of them will have side affects. You have to decide what you can live with.

Me too. Topamax for migraines. Lyirica for fibro, l take cymbalta for my fibro
