Yes i get a lot of headaches. Have you been taken pain killers for a long time? If you have they can cause headaches. I use muscle cream. I put it on my temples and forehead. I rub some on the back of my neck. Then i put an ice pack on the top of my head. That may help. God bless😇
Headaches can be tricky. They can be stress related from tensed up muscles, they can be congestion related, migraines, you can even get headaches from the muscles on the roots of your hair hurting. You can have headaches from shoulder pain, neck pain, spine being out of alignment. You can have headaches as side effects from different meds. You can have headaches from your blood pressure being to high.
Having a good medical work up and knowing what meds you take and what the side effects are will be very helpful in determining what kind of headache you have.
I have chronic migraines. They did a MRI of my brain to be sure I didn't have a tumor or something else. I have had 3 Botox injections. One in Feb, May & Aug. For the first 2 I had to have a nerve block because my headache got worse. So far i have fewer migraines & they don't last as long. About 3 days. I'm not sure what the next step is.
I use the normal prescriptions for migraines, but when I get that one that presists, meds don't touch it, I am physically sick and vomiting from the pain. If you get migraines or cluster headaches you know exactly what I am talkn about. I get one. That bad about every 6-8 weeks, with smaller manageable ones in between. When the big one hits, I have this great GP, I can call ahead, they always make room for me. I check in , they inmediatly take me back. (They know I couldn't do the light and noises in waiting area) they already have lights out, thermostat turned low, and a fan for me. Ice pack for my head. The poor girl she takes my blood pressure. All the pre visit in the dark, I am so appreciative too. Then my doctor arrives , does his once over, my blood pressure is always sky high as that's how my body handles and reacts to pain. He starts my "migraine cocktail" as he calls it. It's by IV, has 3 drugs 1- strong pain killer 2- to reduce blood pressure 3- reduces swelling in my brain. It takes about a hour with them checking on me. They remove that IV, then I for get the name, it gives me 1- fluids so not dehydrated 2- what I need to make sure electrolytes are ok. 3- just a good boost of vitemans , this another 30 min. Then ask that I just rest for 30 min. Then check my blood pressure, usually almost normal and released. There been a few times was still high enough they asked me to rest a bit longer...then it dropped, all is good...I feel great that evening or next day. Usually no migraines of any kind return for 1-2 weeks...such a nice break.
I have had headaches for months and no relief. I have had a brain scan that showed nothing. I sit in the house with my blinds closed. I use a vaporiser with essential oils in that can calm my headaches sometimes but I haven't found anything when I get a migraine apart from bed, lights out, head under covers, that's what I do.
