I have been taking Topiramate 200mg daily for a long time for Migraine prevention and since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, have been prescribed Gabapentin. My dosage is being increased monthly and at the moment i am taking 600mg per day. Does anyone else take both of these meds as i understand they are both anti-seizure drugs, If so, has anyone had any size effects from taking them both?
I am also taking Cymbalta.

Members shared their experiences taking gabapentin and topiramate together for conditions like fibromyalgia and migraines, with many describing high doses of gabapentin (ranging from 1,200 to 3,600 mg daily) and topiramate up to 200 mg for migraine prevention. Several members cautioned that gabapentin can be difficult to stop despite doctors saying it's not addictive, with some describing withdrawal symptoms when discontinuing and recommending medical supervision when tapering off. A recurring theme was that individual responses vary widely, with some finding topiramate highly effective for reducing migraine frequency while others experienced side effects like mouth soreness and stomach pain, and many noting that gabapentin's effectiveness seemed to diminish over time.

I take 1200 gabapentin 3 times a day and I cant say I've noticed any side effects. I will say though I seem to be in more pain so I think I might have to be started on pregabalin instead of gabapentin xx

@A MyFibroTeam Member yes i was told that 200mg was the highest, i've been on that dose for years and there is no way the doctors will increase it. I would be careful too @A MyFibroTeam Member

@A MyFibroTeam Member make sure you get help getting off of gabapentin. It didn't work for me was on it for 3 months everyday 2 times a day I believe I was on 600 mg. I just stopped it caused they said it was not addictive but I went through really bad withdrawals. When I was on lyrica for a year my rheumatologist helped me wen off of that. Hugs and Prayers

Yes it is addictive. DR. Says it's not . But they have to keep upping the dose and you can not just stop taking it
