Vocal Issues
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else have vocal issues as part of their symptomania?

The crackling voice that breaks and sometimes goes away altogether, almost like when you have the flu etc.

I have suffered this a lot throughout the year, in spring and summer and blame pollen. During autumn and winter i blame “cold season!” I have the flu shot so if i do get the flu its only cold like as opposed to full flu. But I keep making excuses for something that really has no explanation for occurring, so im guessing… read more

I mentioned it to others Check out Spastic Dysphonia. I attached a link... you are not crazy and it is not an outside source. It is a real condition

https://www.nidcd.nih.gov/health/spasmodic-dysp...

They are saying it is a neurological disorder and can go along with Fibro. Not all doctors are familiar with it. It's not your imagination or something you can control. It only gets worse too! a doctor needs to be alerted and so they can check it out. There is no operation but they use botox in the voice box area to control the spastic muscles. I know because my sister has just gotten her 2nd shot and is doing Much! better. I can now understand her and she doesn't have to work so hard at getting her words out. Face book has a Spastic Dysphonia support group too. There are several types but only treatment will help it. Sorry to hear about your voice but please do check it out. This is a chronic condition and will keep you in my prayers

Oh my sisters perfume “premonition” could make me awfully sick!
So I stay away from perfume counters in the store, and although it’s awkward, people who wear heavy powders

I once had to take one of my staff home as she had a huge reaction to someone hugging her who wore something that cut off her breathing. Never hurts to know CPR. ..

Smoking cigars or pipes also have impact. I now carry a puffer.

The more you can learn about this the more you can avoid respiratory incidents.
Pollution exists indoors and outdoors as I’ve found out
Good Luck!

It sounds like All of us endure
Something, with the fibro.
It is one of the worst things to suffer, when I had m.r.s.a
In my back, I went down from hill after that, although depression I had before.
The pain is pheonominal, hence been put back on the morphine. But all of you make me proud to be a woman. All the things you all go through, and guys too, it's dreadful to say the least.
The more I hear about our life's it makes me more humble, that I'm not the only one that's going through a this.life is crap, but I try to pull myself out of it, two steps forward one back.
I have also arthritis 2new knees awaiting 2 new hips, but hey I have to loose weight first. I can hardly walk, in chronic pain, hardly eat but I put on bloody weight, it's a catch 2.I send you a hugs and love.
Can't always get on hear, but
I do think your all fab. Xx

Yes. Doctors tell me I have laryngitis. Went to ENT and he looked in my throat with a scope and said it was red and swollen but no signs of infection. Comes and goes as it pleases. Feel your pain!
