Does anyone else suffer from throat problems such as tightness and or soreness? Voice changes, can't sing without a tickle at the back of throat. I've been scoped and have seen several E.N.T doctors and, thank God nothing has been found except one of my vocal folds doesn't close all the way. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that but it is a little bit of a relief for me knowing that other fibro warriors are affected by something similar to me. Thank you for replying.

Yes, I have a chronic sore throat that was also checked out with no real answers.

I also get the tightness, but not as frequently, usually coincides with a Costochondritis flare.

Throat discomfort, tightness, and voice changes are something others in the fibromyalgia community do report experiencing. It's reassuring that you've already been scoped and serious causes have been ruled out!

Fibromyalgia is known to cause widespread muscle pain, and this can affect the muscles around the throat, neck, and jaw area. Some relevant connections include:

- Tender points in the neck muscles (like the sternocleidomastoid) are common with fibromyalgia
- TMD (jaw joint dysfunction) affects between 42–94% of people with fibromyalgia and can radiate discomfort into surrounding areas
- Dry mouth affects up to 71% of people with fibromyalgia, which could contribute to throat irritation and that tickling sensation A MyFibroTeam member shared experiencing nerve-related facial and throat pain, noting how stress and muscle tension can trigger and worsen these symptoms significantly.

It's worth discussing these specific throat symptoms with your doctor or a specialist familiar with fibromyalgia, as they can help tailor management strategies for you.

Ok everyone knows what I am going to attribute this to. This is a common central nervous system condition especially in the warm weather. Your cns detects the hot weather and then turns up the way you respond to it in various ways that appear illogical. I too have experienced this but understand it just appears to be a response. Mine generally goes away as quickly as it comes on. It is annoying. I encourage you to have it professionally checked out so you have the assurance you need. 💗💖 I wish the best for you.
