Ankle pain is common in fibromyalgia.

We can also get things like plantar fasciitis which can cause problems in the feet, heel and ankle.

The weight we put on the ankle can also cause us pain in the ankle area, as our whole body system from the legs down does not function as it should, and everything is connected. So sometimes we will struggle putting weight on the ankle as the ankle is weak.

However, although it is a common symptom it's important to realise that it may also be something else if there is swelling and the swelling becomes worse, It's always best to check with your doctor just in case it is something other than fibromyaliga. I can only tell you that it's a very common symptom with fibromyalgia.

You can get tender points on the inside part of your leg above the ankle and they are painful to the touch. Also when I am on my feet a lot or standing in one place for two long makes them ache.

Hi
Yes I have had weak ankles all my life and I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2012 but I think I have had it a lot longer, my right ankle has got stiff and very painful over the last 6 months, the pain goes into my foot and the ankle swells and feels tight, the left one hurts as well but not as bad, I also suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and suffer with very bad cramp in my feet, ankles, lower legs and thighs at night
