Members widely confirmed experiencing sharp pains under their fingernails and toenails, describing the sensation as awful, uncomfortable, and sometimes feeling like nails being ripped off. Several members connected the pain to swollen or tight hands, poor circulation, cold temperatures, and repetitive activities like typing, with some noting the pain also occurs in their feet and can affect balance. A recurring theme was the unpredictable nature of these sharp pains and the comfort found in knowing others share this frustrating fibromyalgia symptom.

I think there is a connection with the soft tissue and fibromyalgia. When I've had pain in my fingers, before being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a Dr told me it's a symptom of poor circulation. As I've gotten older I have pain in my fingers as the result of cooler temperature... I know cold is a trigger for pain with the fibromyalgia. Anyway, yes I know I've experienced pain in the way you've described it.
