I think there is a connection with the soft tissue and fibromyalgia. When I've had pain in my fingers, before being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a Dr told me it's a symptom of poor circulation. As I've gotten older I have pain in my fingers as the result of cooler temperature... I know cold is a trigger for pain with the fibromyalgia. Anyway, yes I know I've experienced pain in the way you've described it.
I also have have pain in my hands I use my hands a lot at work my right hand will start to cramp and swell the sharp pain in feet will come out of nowhere while walking to the point I would start to limp and lose my balance
