Members responded to concerns about persistent elbow pain with a range of experiences and practical next steps, with many recommending starting with a primary care doctor who can order blood tests for rheumatoid factor and ESR to check for inflammation before referring to a rheumatologist if needed. Several members shared that similar deep elbow and forearm pain has been linked to fibromyalgia in their cases, with treatments like trigger point injections, cortisone shots, dry needling, and acupuncture providing relief. A recurring theme was the importance of thorough testing, including thyroid panels, since low thyroid function can also cause joint and muscle pain that mimics other conditions.

I would suggest going to a physical therapist and asking if they can do Dry Needling.

You might try trigger point injections and/or cortizone shots? My fibromyalgia specialist does this on my arms and shoulders.

Yes I ha e this deep pain in my elbows as well. One doctor told me its tennis elbow. I haven't had xrays but they have checked and checked and rechecked my blood work. Nothing comes back on it. However I did ask them to check my tsh, t4 and t3, all thyroid tests. My t4 is low. So my thyroid is off and that can cause pain in your muscles and joints.
