Ever since i first got sick, i have had almost constant stomach pain. It is around my belly button. It doesn’t matter what i eat or don’t eat, its not acid reflux, its not IBS.. Nothing helps. Everything i see with others having stomach pain, they say its reflux or what they ate, etc. Its also not menstrual pain either. I had horrible menstrual cramps also, until i started depo-provera 3 years ago. The pain is different, and in a different place than menstrual cramps. I’d like to know if anyone… read more

Sounds similar to what I get think it's stomach muscles over reacting to fibro
Yes. I do get stomach pain in that area and always have.
But for me there are some odd causes.
1. IBS
2. Sometimes when I get this pain in that area I realise it's being caused by severe pain in the chest muscles right above the belly button. If I feel my chest muscles sometimes just above the belly button, on some occasions it can be agonising. Yet all day I felt it was tummy ache. It was actually being referred from muscles above the area.
So look out for referred pain. This is when you are absolutely sure it's coming from an exact area, but actually that's the referred pain from another area. Remember everything is connected.
2. Does your tummy around that area make loud noises or if you put your hand on this area for a few minutes do you feel movement. It sounds odd but if your tummy and intestines are going into spasm you can feel it. This is a colon spasm and related to IBS.
There are also many other things that can cause these symptoms. So it's sometimes hard to find the exact cause.
Too many to list here.
It's always best to keep trying the doctor.
But I can tell you I get pain exactly where you describe.
Also watch what you eat. Check if it happens directly after eating something.
I hope it eases soon.

@A MyFibroTeam Member it doesnt have anything to do with it. it doesnt matter what i eat, if i eat or dont, it still hurts.
I know and I keep telling my doctor about it
Thanks! I figure its just a symptom of my fibro, but i have never heard of anyone else who has the same problem. As far as tests, they have already done all the tests on my stomach when i first got sick 4 years ago and they found no physical cause.
