Hi has anyone had shingles before I’ve had them four times now the last time was last November but this time it’s left all the side of my face numb will I get the feeling back it’s still painful too 🤗
@A MyFibroTeam Member yes shingles are terrible wow feel for you having them there I get them on my right side of my face all my glands on my right side of my body get swollen too when I have shingles No feeling hasn’t come back it’s been like that since November I’ll be fine thank you I’m at doctors on Thursday so I will ask them I was at doctors 2 weeks ago but forgot to ask 🙈she put me on Naproxen and mirtazapine I stopped taking my Naproxen 2 days ago don’t like the way I feel on them and they are doing nothing for the pain just giving me blurry eyes and brain fog worse going to look into natural stuff hope your day isn’t too bad 🤗
It can happen when I'm extremely overheated or beaten down with stressful situations. I always keep a prescription of antiviral. At the first sign of tingling or burning I start the medication. This lessens the severity. I also had the shingles vaccine when I didn't have an outbreak. It's not completely effective but it does herlp.
It's called post herpetic neuralgia I believe. They typically give people things like Amitriptyline for that, etc. I am sorry you're going through that. I don't have shingles but I have several versions of the herpes virus dormant in my body (EBV being one of them). I think there is a relationship between the herpes virus and fibro, etc. Right now I have a burning mouth...just came out of the blue. it's my tongue, throat and nose (like I inhaled cayenne pepper). AMAZING.
@A MyFibroTeam Member Didn't you get the Zostavac injection after your bout from last year ? There's also a new one called Shringrex. But both can only be injected before to prevent shingles or after so it won't come back. Both were supposed to be good for 10 years. I had Zostavac in 2013.
Yes I have had the shingles and the most painful feeling. Oh my. I still have my outbreaks. It's on my backside. When I get nervous I break out. I don't no about loosing the feelings but you need to go have it seen into. Bless your heart. I am 50. Had fibro sense 2010. Please keep me posted. I am so concerned for you. Praying for you as well
