Flare Related To Injury.
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have carpal tunnel symptoms that come and go. For the past 3 weeks I've felt pretty good with mild pain but yesterday my wrist was bothering me and today my whole body is on 🔥. I have my other usual flare symptoms🙄. Anyone else experience flares from other injury?

I miss my day longshopping sprees and my beloved cooking is now a gruelling chore. I'm coming to terms with the new me. I now shop online and eat out more! Lol! I use a small elliptical to work up a sweat when I'm feeling up to it. I really miss walking everywhere.

I felt like I might have Fibromyalgia for several years before I was diagnosed. I had spinal fusion done in my neck (ACDF) 4-5 years ago. That was the last straw, so to speak, After surgery, Fibromyalgia reared it’s ugly head in a huge flare (although it took a couple more years to finally be diagnosed - the doctor thought it was MS). It was as if my whole body was saying “Enough! I can’t deal with this overload of physical and emotional pain and anxiety any longer!” It was if all of my circuits were overloaded, resulting in creepy crawly sensations, “lightning zap” pain in one place, then another and another, along with muscle tightness, pain and other symptoms affecting every part of me. Although things have died down from that initial flare up, I’m feeling chronically ill every single day. I have flares sometimes close together, sometimes a few months apart. Hardest of all to deal with for me is the debilitating fatigue and at times, the social isolation.

I don’t know if all of that was any help, but I can definitely relate with you! A couple of days ago I was shopping at Walmart, knowing I probably shouldn’t because my foot was already hurting due to Morton’s Neuroma. Before long the pain in my foot was so bad that it triggered pain in my entire body. It all hurt so much that I wondered if I might pass out. I sat on a bench and waited, in agony, for my daughter to finish shopping. My pain lasted for the rest of the day and night, and in the morning I awoke feeling unrefreshed and so unwell that I didn’t get out of bed until late afternoon. Today I’m still trying to feel better. Shopping trips and cooking dinner really set my fibro off. It’s sad, especially because shopping and cooking/baking were some of my very favorite things to do.

I hope today is a better day for you! (((hugs)))

Thank you for sharing, @A MyFibroTeam Member! I feel bad that anyone has to go through this Fibro stuff, but it does help to know that there are people like you out there who know exactly what I’m talking about! It’s nice to know that none of us are alone.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have carpal tunnel syndrome as well my Dr. Says it comes and goes too. It also depends on the weather and if you use them a lot. I had my right hand done and so far No more problems. But I also do not work anymore. But when it is a damp rain and certain weather fronts come I've noticed that my left hand acts up. I have arthritis in both my hands as well and my hands hurt all the time specially my thumbs. Feel better. Hugs and Prayers
