Shingles Shot
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just got the Shingles shot and my fibro has flared up. Did anyone else have the same reaction?

I read somewhere that people with fibro shouldn’t get the shingles shot. Don’t know if there’s any truth to that. But as long as it’s just a short term flare I guess it’s ok.

I got my first Shingrix vaccination a few months back. I didn't have a full blown flare but my whole arm hurt like he'll for 3 days. Not looking forward to shot number 2.

No but it wouldn't surprise me. If the shingles shot is a live HSV vaccination (shingles is an HSV virus), HSV viruses can irritate the nerves. There has actually been a lot of articles written on nerve pain being related to people who have been exposed to various HSV viruses. Chicken pox, herpes, shingles, etc.
