Hello, I was if anyone here has problems with swollen hands. Most days (like 25/30) my hands swell awful and hurt so badly to move, joint very painful. Is this a type of Fibro symptom? I have tried a Diuretic my Dr gave me but it does absolutely nothing. I do not know what to do to help w the swelling. I have had sodium levels checked and it was good.

Members shared their experiences with swollen, painful hands, with many describing similar symptoms including difficulty bending fingers, inability to wear rings, and hands that feel like sausages, though some noted their hands hurt without visible swelling. Several members offered practical strategies including compression gloves, muscle rubs like Aspercreme, anti-inflammatory medications such as Meloxicam and Diclofenac, ice packs for nighttime swelling, and seeing a rheumatologist to rule out conditions like rheumatoid or osteoarthritis. A recurring theme was frustration with doctors attributing all symptoms to fibromyalgia, the challenge of medication side effects like weight gain and swelling from Lyrica and gabapentin, and the emotional toll of managing chronic pain while trying to maintain daily responsibilities and a positive front for others.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I hear ya! I work Full-Time and every joint and muscle in my body hurts daily. So stiff and sore and often weak feeling. It sucks cause i hear from people, you look fine and you"re only 28 how can you feel like that already. I am manager at my job so stress doesn't help and I often tend to over do it at work too work 10-14 hours a day 5-6 days a week. I just hired new people, i told my husband and staff that i just cant keep up with it all anymore. i am very competitive at my job though and having to step back and delegate is killing me. i feel like its my job to be better than everyone else there, as the manager i should be able to do anything they can and do it better, its my job to go above and beyond, but i am physically exhausted and after two full blow panic attacks this week i guess its my sign to try to start addressing this Fibro. and learn how to "beat" it so i can get back to feeling good again after all these years of feeling like crap.
Sorry for rambling LOL

@A MyFibroTeam Member, you are very kind but if truth be told I am actually not as strong as the front I put on for everyone. I practically cry myself to sleep after work and some mornings I cry driving to work cause the pain and stiffness makes me dread the day ahead. I have turned into an emotional mess haha but I am a very optimistic person and my spunky obnoxious personality gets me though most days!!! I have a reputation at work for 1)always being there 2)always talking, sometimes randomly singing and 3)if I am in the building everyone can hear me being a goofball!!
YOU ALL ARE SO VERY STRONG!!!!!!! THANK YOU!
