Sun Exposure
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just came back from a cruise to Bermuda (lucky me!) and I am having the worst flair I have had in years. I got a bad burn in one spot on my chest complete with blisters and I have a feeling that inflammation triggered this mess. I was being polite and chatty and delayed my sunscreen application. The migraine won’t quit and I can barely walk. Whole body hurts as you all well know. Trying to do chores but must keep stopping. At least kitty helps! Any suggestions? I am usually so careful.

I had a severe sun burn years ago when I went to the beach. It was caused by one of my then new medications. Someone gave me a pure and high dose of vitamin E cream which I continued to put on my sun burn. Praise GOD after awhile the sun burn was healed.

Just keep taking breaks and remember everything doesn’t have to be done in one day. Gentle hugs to you.

I went to Bermuda in 1981. I got there the first very severe sunburn which was primarily burned the worse on my chest, though I did have head to toe severe sun burn. I used a PURE VITAMIN E CREAM CONSTANTLY for at least a constant 3 hours!!. It did get better as time went on, thank GOD.

At another time in another beloved favorite beach (Myrtle Beach, SC) after of course my super time while living on Oahu, in approx 1992, I got a severe very painful burn too. I contribute my 2nd sun burn to a strong medication I was having to take at that time.

Advice: please be extra careful about sun burns, if you are at a different beach (especially if it is closer to the sun); you are taking medications which might react to the sun; realize that if you are in the surf that the sun tan blocker will be easily washed off leaving you exposed to a very bad sun burn!!

Several of my relatives have had skin cancer etc from their much younger years in the sun. Please be on the look out for skin tags which I think perhaps was caused to too much continuous sun. We need to warn those who are young now, so they won't have to go through any of this sun burning etc.
