For the last week I have been vomiting and had abdominal cramps. One day I was so bad I was treated in a&e. Two doctors thought sepsis and another said it was just a bug. A week later and I still feel ill, not as bad but still terrible. I just wondered if this could possibly be due to the heat? I also have increased fatigue and pain in my joints.

Members rallied around someone experiencing persistent vomiting, abdominal cramps, and increased heart rate during a heatwave, with most urging her not to assume it was just heat-related and to return to A&E or see a GP immediately given the severity and duration of symptoms. Several members shared practical advice including drinking plenty of water, adding electrolyte drinks like Gatorade, considering IV fluids at the hospital to combat dehydration, and checking whether medications like amitriptyline could be interacting with the heat. A recurring theme was taking heat-related illness seriously, with one member sharing the devastating loss of her mother to heatstroke as a powerful reminder to listen to your body and seek medical care without delay.

Agree with @A MyFibroTeam Member don't assume anything go back to a&e as your obviously still not well. I hope u r managing to drink lots & not throwing that up as well or u will b completely dehydrated & need the hospital to rehydrate u. Take care of yourself & hope u manage to sort this out so u feel loads better xx

If you are still not much better then you need to go back to A&E. Don't assume it's heat causing this. You can get i.v fluids at the hospital which is the best way to hydrate

Are you getting enough water? Any liquid won't do. It needs to be water. Potassium and sodium might help too. The heat does cause some of those things. You must drink water. Can also add drinks like Gatorade to control heat exhaustion.

Actually, yes. I get headaches, nausea & vomiting, & my fatigue gets 19x stronger. I live in TX🔥 too. I think its just reallllly easy for all of us to get dehydrated, which is bad on top of bad... 😣
