Members shared a wide range of medications they've tried for fibromyalgia pain, with many reporting that common treatments like Cymbalta, Lyrica, gabapentin, and Celebrex either didn't work or caused adverse reactions, while some found partial relief with opioid-based pain medications like tramadol, Norco, or Palexia, though these remain controversial and increasingly restricted. Several members emphasized that finding the right combination is highly individual and often involves trial and error, with one member cautioning about potential overmedication and organ damage, while others mentioned helpful supplements like magnesium and glucosamine. A recurring theme was frustration with the limited options and the reality that most medications don't fully address fibromyalgia pain, leaving many in constant discomfort despite trying numerous treatments.

@mryan83 YIKES! you are on a lot of medication and maybe over medicated. I would check with the pharmacist to see if any are contraindicated which means they should not be taken together. And how harmful to the kidneys or liver!! My Dr originally had me on 200 mg twice a day on Lyrica but could not tolerate it so was taking 100 mg once a day at bedtime. Now down to 25 mg at bedtime. If anyone has the magic combo they are not sharing it LOL! Each of us reacts differently to any meds and we are guinea pigs for the Dr because they don't know either what will work for us. That is why it is called practicing medicine! LOL! Prayers and hugs hope you and the Dr. can find something to help you

. @A MyFibroTeam Member so sorry for your news but so glad you decided to get a second opinion, shame on the first gp you saw Prayers and hugs and hope all goes well. I had a total knee replacement done 4 months ago (Feb27) and 96 staples each against the other, it looked like a zipper but now healing very nice and the scar will be barely noticeable. Walking without cane or walker even doing stairs no problem. Going to a Folk Festival with a friend next week, we have gone the last 5 years and really enjoy the day. So that will be a test for this surgery walking for the better part of 4-6 hrs!! I just hope it doesn't rain or be too hot and humid or may have to cut the day short. We've been lucky so far with nice weather each time we go.

Hi youngcheryl!!How are you today?
Ive had pretty crappy day.And found out I need surgery (operation number25) on my big toe.The arthritis has almost destroyed the ball joint. No wonder Ive been in agony for seceral months.I very frustrated with my gp.She knew this months ago.I had an ultra sound done by a different gp,saw him today and he explained it all. See the specialist on Monday. They will have to fuse the toe. Ho hum...
