Members expressed deep frustration with fibromyalgia medications, describing a cycle where drugs might temporarily mask pain but often return with increased intensity, cause troubling side effects, or simply stop working altogether. Several members shared they are working with doctors to safely reduce or eliminate medications, with some turning to naturopathic care or alternative approaches like acupuncture, though insurance barriers remain a significant challenge. A recurring theme was the desperate need for real research, answers, and a cure rather than an endless series of pills that treat symptoms without addressing the underlying condition or restoring quality of life.

Yes, because N O T H I N G works. It may cover it up for a bit, but comes back with avengance.
We need to know if there is being research done! We need to know that we are taken seriously and that this is a SERIOUS disease!
It's heartbreaking to read all these comments and how people are suffering.
We want our life back! Something has to come through.

I'm dropping meds with the help of my psychiatrist who seems to be quite knowledgeable about these meds. I've managed to start weaning off Cymbalta and dilaudid. Working on Ambien and urology meds. We need more research.

Absolutely! After trying everything they threw at me I eventually told them to just jam it! The meds either didn't work or just made me sicker in worse ways.
I am now being treated by my naturopath. We are currently targeting the sleep issue, and once that is under control we will move on to the next issue.
