Hi all,

Wondering if anyone had lightheadedness and nausea in the beginning when your fibromyalgia first started. I've been battling this for almost one year and it just won't completely leave. At times it's better, then it hits me all over again. Most mornings are horrible, then get better, then get bad again around 11:00 a.m.

I've had every test and MRI available and all results are normal, but something isn't right. My back pain started about a month after I had the flu in January. I… read more

Members shared their experiences with lightheadedness and nausea related to fibromyalgia, with many describing similar patterns of symptoms that worsen at certain times of day and persist despite normal test results. Several members offered practical solutions they found helpful, including dietary changes with increased protein and reduced carbs tracked through apps like My Fitness Pal, salt supplements with potassium for orthostatic hypotension, peppermint essential oils for nausea, and reviewing medications with doctors since certain blood pressure and sleep medications can trigger these symptoms. A recurring theme was the frustration of unexplained symptoms despite extensive testing, the importance of advocating for yourself when doctors dismiss potential connections, and finding relief through trial and error with supplements, diet adjustments, and natural remedies.

Hi. Thanks so much for the information and links. My problem is lightheadedness instead of dizziness, which is usually associated with the inner ear. Since I would nearly pass out when getting up quickly from lying down or sitting, the neurologist gave me some tests for orthostatic hypotension, but my BP didn't fall low enough to qualify me for the fludrocortisone, which is usually given for OH, but he gave it to me anyway. It didn't do much but give me daily headaches. I have found a product called Salt Stick that helps me to a certain degree. When I start feeling my head get light, I take it. It's not table salt, but salt with potassium.

I know that viral infections can cause shingles, etc. My flu episode occurred in January of this year. The lightheadedness and nausea started on 6/24/17, two days after I had lots of dental work done in one day. I feel there was a connection there, but no doctor I tell says there is any connection. I have had my blood tested for bacteria and other things, and nothing showed. But in the back of my mind, I think that could have started it all.

I had vertigo. MY MIL had vertigo and I could never understand when she would talk about it. I spoke to my Dr. and Pharmacist and it was decided it was reaction to taken flexeril and the generic for ambien (sleeping med). Stop the sleeping med. Vertigo GONE.
