Members shared numerous strategies for managing leg pain and aching during flares, with the most common remedies being TENS machines on massage settings, Epsom salt baths, elevation with compression bandages or foam wedges, and topical treatments like Deep Relief Gel or Woodlock oil. Several members mentioned prescribed quinine tablets for restless leg syndrome and cramping, drinking Indian tonic water for its quinine content, and taking anti-inflammatory medications like Naproxen to reduce swelling and discomfort. A recurring theme was the unpredictable duration of flares, ranging from a few hours to several days, leaving many feeling exhausted and debilitated, with some expressing that the severity can make even basic movement or rest feel impossible.

I was given my tens machine by the Pain Clinic.

I’m sorry you’re feeling a bit rough. I usually start by putting my legs up. Might try a bath or rub some Woodlock oil onto the skin. Sometimes I go for a walk whilst listening to some music if I can or have a turn on the vibration plate.

Mine lasts anywhere between a couple of hours to a few days.
You get used to it like everything else, just some days feel just crappy.

I bought a foam wedge on amazon that I use lying down in my bed. It helps all the muscles in my legs relax. I usually use it along with listening to meditations from Tara Brach.
