How To Handle Fatigue And Weakness?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was recently diagnosed with fibro and have been hypothyroid for quite a few years as well. Though the pain isn't great, I feel like my biggest issue is trying to get through fatigue and muscle weakness. I've noticed I can no longer stand in one place or walk around for too long anymore, some days my legs give just trying to walk to the bathroom. Walking up or down a flight of stairs has become my everest.

Are there any tricks or treatments to get through the day? To make it easier to walk?

Hi Kaleigh, I find what helps me is using a cane it helps with my balance. My feet hurt all the time and walking is really hard most of the time. When I feel my legs and feet are hurting an awful lot I have to sit down and rest. We all need to pray for a cure. God Bless.

Pace yourself and look up the spoon method. Its all about structuring your daily routine so that you cope and function. Its so easy to have a day where you feel semi normal then ruin it by doing too much. The spoon method will help you learn to cope and have some functionality.

Have you been tested for low iron? Sometimes low thyroid goes hand-in-hand with low iron and also low B12.
