I’m still new to fibromyalgia and this site so I apologize if this has been discussed before, but i notice I usually wake up to the feeling of all my nerves trembling in a way that makes my body ache as if I was fighting a flu or infection while I was sleeping even though I’m not sick. My whole body is sore, achey and everything is tingly and numb-like and trembling (limbs especially) whenever I lay down to sleep and it’s usually the sensation that wakes me up. It never seems to get better or… read more

Members connected over the shared experience of waking up feeling worse than before sleep, describing sensations of trembling nerves, flu-like aches, and extreme morning stiffness that can take an hour or more to ease. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped, including medications like gabapentin, trazodone, muscle relaxants, and Lyrica, as well as supplements like Benfotiamine for nerve pain, with many emphasizing the importance of rest during flares and gentle movement when possible. A recurring theme was the frustration of non-restorative sleep and the vicious cycle where pain disrupts rest and poor sleep worsens pain, yet members found comfort in knowing they are not alone in this daily struggle.

Yes, unfortunately fibro and mornings are a bad mixture. 1st you likely dont get restful sleep, called non restorative sleep like many, if not most, with fibro suffer from. This really affects your entire body. 2nd i suspect you have neuropathy as well. I am on a few meds that help me enough. I take trazadone for sleep along with a muscle relaxant and gabapentin. I take tramadol for the breakthrough nerve pain. Flares are the worse, i know it is rough to get moving, but excercise vital right along with good sleep. Good wishes to you

All I can say is welcome to the wonderful life of fibro!! I’m so sore every morning when I get woken up with pain, and my muscles are so tense from sleeping however long that I can barely do anything until about an hour after being up and have taken my meds! And that’s on a good day! I hope you can find an answer to help yourself! I know I just have to put time in in the morning before I can start my day!

It sounds like your describing a really bad flare, which for me is like a extra painful, super flu when my whole GI tract is in an uproar, I can't think straight, and my skin all.over my body hurts to.the touch.

I am grateful that I don't feel.like this 24/7, but some people with fibromyalgia do for quite some time and it makes them feel absolutely helpless and desperate. There are enough people I know here who feel like this quite a bit of the time and only by having loving family do they go.on. But even so, just feeling in pain of some kind every day and not knowing when that flare is coming takes fortitude which is why we call each other fibro-warriors.

You will learn that there's a lot you can learn to do to take charge of your health. It is empowering and a lot of it really works. But it's also something you have to learn for yourself because we are all different in our needs.

God bless you, and good luck.

Hi, i'm quite new to the site too. I kept saying to my GP, that i felt like this. Just got ignored so changed to another practice. Got diagnosed with Fybro. Unfortunately you have to rest till it passes. I seem to be getting like this more frequently, its when i do what was normal before, but causes me to flare up. Get angry @ times . Then i go on this site & know i' m not alone. Big hugs 💙
