Members shared mixed experiences with Cymbalta for fibromyalgia, with some finding significant pain relief and mood improvement while others reported little to no benefit or difficult side effects including severe depression and suicidal thoughts. Several members emphasized the importance of taking it at the same time daily and warned that withdrawal symptoms can be extremely challenging, describing them as horrific with excruciating pain and desperately low mood when attempting to stop. A recurring theme was that while Cymbalta helped many members initially, effectiveness often decreased over time requiring dosage increases, and some members expressed interest in exploring medical marijuana as an alternative despite concerns about legal access and the daunting withdrawal process.

Helped me more than anytime. But like everything had to be increased 4 years later. Now pain is so bad er saw me last night. All the muscles in my right arm and shoulder are locked in knotts. Why do they now say its a nerve problem. When i was diagnosed they said its a muscle thing.

It's helped me with my pain, and a bit with my mood. I hate that it makes my feel that there is a thick layer of numbness everywhere. It's feel everything and be in pain all the time, or feel nothing. It's a tough call, but I spent many years with the pain, and I need a break from it. I dislike the numbness enough to always be on the look out for alternatives. I'm considering trying medical marijuana instead. I'm afraid of the withdrawal process once I do stop cymbalta, as I've read that it can be very difficult. Fibro is tough, and there aren't tons of options in terms of medication.

I have been on it for about three years now. I had it in my head just over a year ago that it wasn't really of benefit to me. I talked it through with my doctor and we agreed to wean me off it. Oh my word it was horrific, my mood was desperately low and the pain was excruciating. Needless to say I rapidly went back on it. Sadly I think I'm on the highest dose now and I'm in the place where I'm needing something different or in addition.
