Hi everyone. Is insomnia a symptom of Fibro? Unless i physically push myself to the limits, I find it really hard to get to sleep of an evening. Does anyone have any tips?

melatonin is a saving grace for me! and its natural, helps calm you down enough to sleep. only gives me a few hours a night but better than nothing :)

Podcasts. I like BBC radio 4 discovery and natural world, The Sleep Whisperer and Game of Drones. Basically it has to be interesting enough to distract my brain from my pain but not so interesting I stay awake to finish it. I'm 6 episodes into Game of Drones and I've only heard the end of one. I tried AMSR, guided meditation, monks chanting, audio books, biaural beats and sleep music before I found what works for me.
Good luck, may the sleep be with you 😴

I thought i had insomnia for years but recently found out i have really severe sleep apnea, i now have a cpap machine but still get up during the night and still fall asleep during the day for no reason. I found out i stopped breathing between 54 and 62 times an hour so it was causing a massive strain on my heart. Getting to sleep at night used to be a nightmare and i could be wide awake 2 hours later but now i put the machine on and im out like a light 5 mins later. I was told by my sleep analist apnea is common in fibro sufferers.

Yes! Sleep is elusive. I tried melatonin and had nightmares. Sigh
