Has anyone tried Remeron aka Mirtazapine specifically for insomnia? It was prescribed for me and I am taking it tonight, wondering what your experience was, side effects etc...

Members shared mixed experiences with Remeron for insomnia, with some finding it ineffective or experiencing reverse reactions that made sleep harder, while others noted that many medications for fibromyalgia simply don't work as expected for pain or sleep. Several members mentioned their ongoing struggles to find any medication that helps with insomnia, with one finding more relief from a CPAP machine after a sleep study than from any prescription. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error nature of finding sleep solutions and the importance of being patient and advocating for alternatives when medications don't work.

I've got sleep apnea as well so always sleepy but still occasionally struggle to get to sleep due to the pain level. I'm on Cymbalta plus other meds.

I've tried a lot of meds I could still stay awake 3 days but this one I'm on seems to work on and off. Maybe I will try to adjust dosage. I've never tried the ones mentioned. Hugs

Yes I have tried it but it didn't help me at all. Everyone's body is different and I hope it did work for you. They still haven't found anything to help me get sleep yet, so I just keep trying and hopefully soon they can find something to help me.
