Miracle Cure
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I keep hearing and seeing these so called miracle workers who have cured fibromyalgia with a structured diet and exercise plans. I am just curious do you know anybody who has been completely cured or have heard of anybody who has been cured?. I find my fibro has been getting worse in stages for the last six years, i have had other health issues i blame on fibro as well.

I was reading mkathryn's reply. I also heard about the clinical trials. It is being done by Epic Genetics. A friend told me about it. I spoke to my doctor about it and she signed the consent form that is needed to have the blood test. It is covered by medicare. I received the test kit in the mail, went to the clinical lab for an outside blood draw. The clinic mailed it to Epic Genetics in the prepaid FedEx package that was included in the kit. I received a call from Epic when they received my blood stating it is being tested and I (and my doctor) will have the results in two weeks. I don't completely understand the breakdown of the blood but know the higher the percentage the better. Then you qualify for the study. They are seeking 250,000 fibro positive patients for this study. I'm waiting for my results.

Miracle Cure I have done exercise from the time I developed Fibromyalgia and I went to Aquafit in warm water and then I went swimming and eventually I lifted weights to build my strength. It really helped me. I had massage as well. It helped me a lot and 20 some years later I am a lot better and I don't even have to do Aquafit anymore. I still do some exercise. I have recently joined Weight Watchers and have lost weight and feel a whole lot better. I think exercise and eating right and getting to your proper weight helps out quite a bit.

I agree with what Greg has told you, that's is no 'miracle cure' it doesn't exist.
Anyone who purports to have one is doing so to make money or of sufferers who will try anything to try to get rid of the fibro. They are playing on people's vulnerability.
Fibromyalgia is a degenerative illness, which means it gets worse over time. Many other illnesses are attributed to or come along with fibromyalgia and a lot of people aren't diagnosed with it until they've had it for years, because they attribute their symptoms to something else until the fibro gets that bad they go to the docs and eventually get referred to rheumatology and get diagnosed with it. Then comes the difficulty of trying to find what medications you can take to help with the pain.
It is a long drawn out process, but unfortunately there is no miracle cure for it, if there was, the medical profession would be using it because it would save them millions.
Please don't waste your money on these so called miracle cures. Money is hard enough to come by as it is, use it on things that you know will help you, not ones that snobby work and will waste your money. Gentle hugs. (()) 💕

Patti that blood test sounds promising. I hope some thing comes from it. I am sure many of us would like to know what your results are so we can talk to our doctors about the test, may be this will be a break through let's hope. Good luck.

If you’re living with fibromyalgia, you already know that there is no cure for the pain and fatigue you often feel. Fortunately, with medications, self care strategies and lifestyle modifications, living with fibromyalgia can be a little easier.
