Is applying pressure to tender points always part of a fibromyalgia diagnosis in your experience?
That’s how I was finally diagnosed! My doctor tried it a year earlier and I didn’t have enough pressure points when tested but low and behold, a year later almost every point was painful when touched!!
@A MyFibroTeam Member. I have only resently heard about the bloodtest on here. I don't know anymore about it. I am curious if it really works for a diagnosis. I am sure we will hear more about it soon.
Yes. The tender point test is basically the only way to diagnose fibro. The doctors rule out everything else with the symptoms of widespread pain and fatugue that lasts more than 6 months. If nothing else shows up on tests, then they do the tender point test and diagnose you with fibro. They apparently have a bloodtest they can do now to diagnose fibro but i have heard it is very expensive.
The "tender point" pressure is always done.
that's how I was diagnosed as well
