I have exactly the same issues as the qustio poster (no name). My meds make my mouth super dry and I can barely get through a sentence without needing to drink.
I get very painful mouth ulcers and splits in my tongue. I’m in UK so products probably have different names. I got high fluoride toothpaste from my detist, to help combat the damage done to teeth from lack of saliva. I got a mouthwash that basically numbs the pain in your mouth from ulcers. However, no-one has ever given me anything to increase saliva production. Im getting a lot of my teeth crowned before I lose them totally.
This is a big fibro problem.
I am dry as a desert! Doesn't help to live at 8500 feet altitude. Does anyone else have the problem of your mouth becoming drier when upset about something? I've noticed that with myself,so dry when upset I can't even talk. Very weird. And the goofiness and forgetfulness, yikes! Hi Agoo,we haven't spoke for awhile. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!!😊
I used a childrens mouthwash when i had this problem. It was because of what was in the mouthwash. Chewing gum made mine worse. Ice lollies helped a bit
I have had cottton mouth for 30 years with fibro. I drink close to a gallon of water a day. I also make sure to have hard candy on me at all times. If you drink alot of coffe, tea or soda, they are all dehydrating and make it worse. I keep a 32ounce insulated cup of ice water with me all the time. Unfortunately other than hard candy, water and biotene ot similiar mouthwashes, there is not much else we can do. I ended up getting dentures 8 years ago and i had perfect teeth. I blame it on the meds and cotton mouth for losing my teeth. Anyone having dry mouth, do all yiu can to keep your mouth from being dry and brush your teeth several times a day. I took very good care of mine and still lost them. I hope one day, we will have something that helps our dry mouth and the fibro. Good luck. Hugs
When I was on that med my Doc and my Dentist both recommended Biotene. I used the rinse, the tooth paste and the travel size spray. It helped a lot.
