Members overwhelmingly validated the experience of hot flashes with fibromyalgia, with many calling them 'fibro flashes' and noting they occur even years after menopause or in cold environments, often accompanied by sweating, dizziness, nausea, and anxiety. Several members shared practical coping strategies including running wrists under cold water, drinking cold water or ice chips quickly, layering clothing for easy adjustment, using fans, taking cold showers, and treating symptoms like low blood sugar with juice and crackers when feeling faint. A recurring theme was the relief of realizing these hot flashes are connected to fibromyalgia rather than hormones alone, with members encouraging each other to stay hydrated, adjust their environment, and give themselves grace as they navigate this uncomfortable and often isolating symptom.

Thank you for posting this question! I never related my hotflashes to FM before. I deal with mine by layering my clothing. Too hot, remove a layer or two. Too cold, put them back on. You can research natural oils as well to help alleviate hotflashes.

You are so not alone. I can't do malls or even outside event's. I sweat so bad my clothes are wet. Then I get anixety and panic attacks. My bedroom is 55 degrees with window open. Connie Dawson.

I get this all the time. I know it is not hormal as I has a hysterectomy 10 years ago and the hot flashes stopped completed for 5 years and now they are back. I do not know why and have found nothing to help them. I wear layers all the time but some times I sweat so much I want to change my clothes.

I do from time to time. Never let yourself get thirsty. I usually treat it like low blood sugar if I feel faint, shaky or weak. I sip on juice and take small bites of crackers. If it's just heat, I suck on ice chips and sip cold water.
