I am always slow to wake up in morning. But some days like today when I actually achieve deep sleep just before waking I then am 10 times worse! Anyone else with this issue? 😴

Members connected over the shared struggle of morning grogginess despite achieving deep sleep, with many describing how rare deep sleep often leads to waking up feeling worse, like having a hangover, or being completely frozen and unable to move without coffee. Several members shared that disrupted sleep patterns, waking multiple times throughout the night, sleep apnea, restless legs, chronic pain, and the wearing off of pain medications all contribute to intense morning fatigue and stiffness that can take hours to shake off. A recurring theme was the cruel irony of fibromyalgia sleep, where finally getting quality rest makes waking even harder, and winter months seem to amplify both pain and grogginess.

Eat plenty of vegetables. Green vegetables are the best. I get ton of energy with them

Gentle hugs to my fellow fibro friends. I just gotta say Chicago definitely is the windy city! Glad I am overweight because if it weren't for this excess weight the wind would have carried me across the street! So much for getting a little exercise to return library items which were due tomorrow because I am in for a couple of days; fibro sure is making me achy all over , definitely feel like I am 68 years old and it has been a very long time since I have been in this much discomfort. Trying to figure out why I was so stubborn and let my prescription for Neurontin lapse. Guess if pain doesn't subside somewhat I will be making a trip to urgent care for a prescription since I just found out my new primary care doctor hasn't got the vaguest idea what fibromyalgia is and thinks I need to make a round of tests before she prescribes something to get me out of this misery (I would have thought she could read my file from the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago which diagnosed my fibromyalgia)! I'm relying on all those hugs I have received to get me through this crisis.

Oh, yes, EVERY morning. That's when I COULD sleep, but when I have to get up of course. Several years ago I had a sleep study and had restless leg and took the meds. Then, later, fibro came along and nothing helps that. I take meds but still cannot sleep and when I CAN sleep I have to get up. Stinks, doesn't it?
