Members shared a wide range of medications and approaches they use to manage fibromyalgia pain, with common prescriptions including Cymbalta, gabapentin, Lyrica, muscle relaxers like tizanidine and Flexeril, and pain medications ranging from ibuprofen to tramadol and hydrocodone. Several members described frustrating trial-and-error experiences with medications that either didn't work or caused difficult side effects, while others found relief through alternative approaches including anti-inflammatory supplements, apple cider vinegar with honey, eliminating gluten, controlled environments, and even unexpected strategies like doing math problems or music therapy. A recurring theme was the deeply personal nature of fibromyalgia treatment, with members emphasizing that what works varies greatly from person to person, and many continue searching for effective relief while managing the daily challenge of chronic pain.

Hi, I take @Lyrica 225 mg 2X day, Tizanidine HCL 4 mg 6X nightly ( muscle relaxant ), @Cymbalta 20 mg 1X nightly, and Ambien 10 mg nightly ( for sleep ). I also take a bunch of other meds for other conditions. We are all unique chemically. Good luck.

I was on low dose of Savella and stroked out on it (took well over a year to get sort of back to normal). Cymbalta isn't an option for me. The only thing I take is a low dose of Doxepin which works as good--actually better than the Savella did. 10mg of Doxepin. I also use HTP-CALM which is a seratonin mellow out supplement during a bad flare. I have an ultra controlled living environment as I've learned what my triggers are but it is still a day to day challenge. Music therapy (gentle instrumentals) are very effective for me. Also, I live in a cave (so my friends say) because I don't like light. And I know this might sound strange, but if I'm having a lot of pain--I do math. I've never enjoyed math much and got D's in it throughout school but I accidentally discovered my brain likes it and working algebra problems actually reduces pain. Sudoku works as well.
