Does anyone get heart burn with Lyrica?
I noticed initially that it put 30 pounds on me. I think mostly water retention and slower digestion. My stomach seems to be taking longer to empty. I think thats causing the heart burn for me.
I wanted to know if this happens to others.
@A MyFibroTeam Member Yes, weight gain is a known side effect. I am not sure about the heart burn. I think the heart burn is a result of a slowed digestion leading to the enlarged stomach “which I have now too”.
I am trying a diet now, but still alarge stomach. I am gonna also try walking daily on a treadmill, and work my way up to running.
Its hard though. My body decided to scream at me today with pain.

It varies. I had to rest a lot the past few days, because pain levels have been insane. Thankfully, I got better by today for work.
Cold weather makes it many times worse, and I live in Florida so I am lucky.
Digestion really got hung up with Lyrica, but with the dieting it somewhat helps. I had to stop eating a Activia as it was the primary culprit behind acid reflux. Eating less or smaller portions helped too.
I did not really celebrate much this year. Everything just really got to me bad. I am however going on a cruise January 2nd. I am taking my 18 year old nephew as a birthday, Xmas, and Highschool graduation gift. We talked about going on a cruise for three years, so best time is now.
How was your Xmas? You doing anything fun for New Years?
Hello @A MyFibroTeam Member, Is your pain getting any better? I just noticed your reply tonight. Sorry to miss it before. The lyrica helps my pain pretty good... At least now I do not feel the cold wet weather 3 days prior. Have you noticed that as well? How about your digestion? Are you able to maintain your same weight? Sadly I am gaining. I see my doctor 12/26 and will worry about a diet then. >hehe<

Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member, My name is Andrea. I have only been on Lyrica for about 10 days. I had gained about 8 lbs in a couple days myself and noticed that after eating my stomach is huge. I never thought about it being because of a slowed down digestive process. Is that a listed side-effect? I know there were many.
However, I have developed a "sore throat" since I started taking it. I wonder if that is actually acid reflux/heartburn up in my throat.
I see my doctor tomorrow. I'll ask him
