Members shared their experiences with vitamin D deficiency, which appears to be a common issue among people with fibromyalgia, with many taking daily supplements or high-dose prescriptions and some receiving weekly B12 shots alongside their vitamin D regimen. Several members emphasized the importance of getting outside for at least 15 minutes daily to help the body produce its own vitamin D naturally, with one doctor warning that long-term supplementation without sunlight exposure could cause the body to lose its ability to produce the vitamin independently. A recurring theme was mixed results, with some members feeling noticeably better after treatment while others saw little improvement despite months of supplementation.

Yes for several years on high doses of Vitamin D. Only way I was able to get off and keep a good level was to get outside for 15 minutes a day. Doc said your body will lose the ability to produce Vitamin D and you will become tied to prescription for life. Get out as often as you can with your sunscreen and soak up some Vitamin D!

Yes. I was deficient too. After taking prescription D for a while, I do feel a little better.

I have vitamin D deficiency too. It seems like a fibro problem. I take vitamin D and B12 daily along with fibro meds but haven't noticed much of a difference.
