The only "diagnostic" is the 18 tender points. There are several examples and if you have 11 or more, you supposedly have fibro. (When I'm in a flare, I have 14; when I'm not, I have none.)
Some people have dismissed the chart as obsolete, so take it FWIW.
The thing is, as we've shared information here, we've discovered many commonalities. We, together, have probably done more exploration of fibro than the medical community.

I have found that even though we have been diagnosed with Fibro each of us may have different symptoms/ other disorders. Depending on the day, time, and what activities are going on in our lives some symptoms are are more prevalent/intense than others. Like some one else said these symptoms all over lap with other illnesses/disorders. Just like the side effects of medication we generally are told about the more common ones.
