My doctor suggested introducing Lyrica to help with fybromyalgia pain and the fog. Just wanting to know if anyone could share their experiences with this medication. I have had some adverse side effects from other medications and have concerns. Would appreciate any feedback from other fybro warriors that have tried this new medicine or are currently using. Also it is expensive and any suggestions on alternatives are welcome. Thank you for any input.

Members shared widely varied experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia, with some finding significant pain relief and others experiencing little benefit or troublesome side effects like weight gain, extreme drowsiness, memory problems, and feeling spaced out or detached. Several members offered practical cost-saving strategies, including manufacturer discount programs at Lyrica.com (reducing costs from $90 to $25 per month), asking doctors for samples, and checking insurance coverage, while others suggested alternatives like Gabapentin, Savella, or Tramacet based on what worked better for their individual bodies. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia medications affect everyone differently, so trying Lyrica carefully under medical supervision while watching for side effects is the only way to know if it will help, with many members emphasizing the importance of weighing benefits against drawbacks and advocating for yourself when something isn't working.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Hey there, hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. By the way I found Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer on my bookshelf today. Weird part is neither my husband nor myself have any idea where it came from. Lol. We are going to use to begin our home studies. God is so good my friend.

Hey girl! Ive been on Lyrica for years because I couldnt take Neurotin. It has helped with neuropathy but I have gained weight and I think it makes my sleepiness worse. My mom says you have to take the good with the bad. There are quite a few side affects listed. โ˜บ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’•โš“

@A MyFibroTeam Member, when I took lyrica, I had no significant reduction of pain, but I had the wakefulness early in the morning. So paired with insomnia made for a very sleepy me. I would not get to sleep until between 3 and5 am and I was full awake at 7. Very annoying.
