My rheumatologist just put me on remeron for anxiety and the inability to sleep. Has anyone had success with this medicine?

Members connected over the question of using Remeron for anxiety and sleep issues related to rheumatoid arthritis, with one member enthusiastically confirming it worked well for them after switching from Effexor, which had awful side effects. Several members opened up about the emotional toll of living with chronic illness, describing feelings of loneliness, exhaustion, pretending to be okay while screaming inside, and the humiliation of needing help with basic tasks like using the bathroom. A recurring theme was the deep isolation and fear that comes with worsening symptoms, balanced by genuine warmth and solidarity as members exchanged hugs, prayers, and encouragement to keep searching for relief.

Am on it for my depression and anxiety. Am so glad to be off of the Effexor, with it's awful side effects. Seems to be working for me, so would have to give it a thumbs up! Hope this helps

Oh bless you. You've brought tears to my eyes. I hate it too. Its lonely, hard work, tiring and yes its bloody shit. The lady who replied above has said it is working for her, so maybe give it a try. Pain, depression, anxiety and insomnia are the worst possible mix. I feel helpless too. I pretend a lot of the time that im 'ok' but really inside I am screaming. If it works then ill be next in line to ask for it. Xxx

WendyS67 I broke down in tears on the phone. I am beyond being tired of all of this bullshit. I hate this disease. She told me to bring in my husband for the next appointment and she will tell him what it does to me. I will be the guinea pig for this one girlfriend (((hugs)))

Its ok I've just looked it up. Yes I was on something very similar for years. In the end I was taking at least 8 sachets and still no joy. X
